We were already in the second week of the summer and we decided to do our first summer trip to the highlands of Akrata and especially at the Tsivlos Lake. At this trip, we had new participants. First Giannis with a Kawasaki Z750 made his first trip with the club and second, our friends Christos (FC) came with us as a co-driver and Panagiotis with a Yamaha R1.
The distance to Akrata is 140km and you will need less than an hour to there. Our first stop was at the Akrata town where we sat at a cafe at one of the many near the beach where we had the chance to know better our new friends. Akrata is a coastal town and at the summer times, many people visit it since it is near to Athens.
Our next destination was the beautiful lake Tsivlos. It is only 28km far away from Akrata. At the town of Akrata you will find the appropriate signs to go to the lake. We have to point out that for only 1km the road is earthen but in a good condition since many cars pass from there. At the lake, there is a lot of flora. In the area, you will also found many campers.
We decided to eat something and we chose the tavern “Petrino” which is found at the road to the lake although there is one tavern next to the lake. At the tavern, you can have trout fish or any other meal that you like. The food is very good and while we were eating, another motorcyclist team make its appearance which confirmed that lake Tsivlou is the favourite destination of many motorcyclists.
We recommend you to fill up your reservoirs at the Akrata town since some of us we were running low in gas at the lake. You should take the opportunity to visit the lake and especially if you like camping. It is only 170km away, 140 of them in the national road, from Athens.
